I've only just heard of Michael's passing. He was a staunch ally of my late father, Donal Nevin, in the ICTU and a loyal support in retirement. To all the O'Halloran family I along with my mother, Maura, express sympathy on the loss of a steadfast trade unionist. May he rest in peace.

Dear Mary, Michelle, Paul, Thomas, Colm & all the family - I am so sad to hear of dear Michael's passing. He was a much loved and life-long friend of my late Dad. Although I know they were poles apart at times on their political beliefs - it didn't distract from their mutual respect for each other and of course, they bonded over their faith. I was so grateful for Michael's support when my Dad was dying. Although sadly they couldn't see each other on account of Covid restrictions - my Dad knew of his constant phone calls enquiring how he was. I would like to think they are re-united now and having a good ol' banter. I will get a Mass said for Michael over the coming days. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

We remember Mchael very fondly for all the good he did for the people of Artane ,such a decent man , kind , intelligent with great compassion..he opened the doors of the Mansion House to so many young people in the area and provided us the opportunity to meet people we’d never meet ..like U2 in 1985…some local girls have never gotten over it !..Brought a bit of Hollywood into our lives in the dreary 80’s..thank u Michael and god rest you
