To Gerard, Una, and Padraig.

I was very sad to hear about Micks untimely passing.

Losing 2 brothers unexpectedly is a terrible cross to bear.

As you know the McKennas and Quinlana shared an end garden wall for all of our school days and beyond. I spent as much time in Quinlans house as I did in my own home.

The Heather cup gave me lovely memories. Micks silky skills were a great contrast to my lack of any talent whatsoever.

We also were in the FCA together and prepared thoroughly for any incursion by foreign hordes with equipment that had been left over from the Somme.

In the 35 years since I moved to England we only met sporadically but it never took long for the giggling to turn into hearty laughter.

Mick was a "smasher " in my late mums words and was taken much too early.

RIP Mick.

So sorry to hear about Mick.

Mick was a true gentleman, a person with natural charm and empathy. In my 35 year career, Mick was the person I enjoyed working with the most. Mick had so many great qualities; integrity, professionalism, intelligence, wisdom, exceptional people and organisational skills, he embraced diversity and treated everyone equally with respect and fairness. He was a great listener, problem solver and a natural leader. Above all, Mick was great company, he had a charming smile and I always looked forward to our next coffee and catch up. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.
