Deepest Sympathy to the O’ Doherty family on the passing of Monsignor Donal . He was very good friends with our late Parents Paddy and Kathleen , they loved going on the Lourdes trips with him . Also Dad and himself had many a discussion on the results of the Munster Finals over the years as Dad was from Cork . The conversation would be very entertaining. Rest In Peace Fr. Donal .

Sincere condolences to the O'Doherty family on the death of Father. Donal - as we always called him. A wonderful Parish Priest, We were blessed to have had him for so long.He was remarkable for his belief in involving the laity to develop and actively contribute to shaping Holy Cross parish. A wicked sense of humour and love of parishioners, young and old, played a mighty (one of his favourite words) part in supporting many of us in difficult times.

Our family have been parishioners of Holy Cross for over fifty years. In that time the parish has been blessed with some wonderful priests & Monsignor Donal was certainly up there with the very best. He was a lovely man, kind & compassionate. It was always a pleasure to meet him for a chat especially about Gaelic football of which he was a great enthusiast as befits a native son of Kerry, He will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace.

A wonderful man with a great sense of letting the congregation shape its future. He played a large part in how the Holy Cross Parish Community is shaped today. He was a positive influencer in my (Colette’s) teenage years and was the celebrant at our marriage.
Monsignor O’Doherty has been a gift to the Parish.
We pray that he is now in the great Light and Peace of Our Lord. 🙏🏽

My enduring memory is of a beautiful Sacrament of Reconciliation service on the riverbank in Lourdes. In particular Fr Donal listening so attentively and with such dignity & compassion to our late mother, Rita who had lost her speech after a stroke.
