Deepest Sympathy to the O’ Doherty family on the passing of Monsignor Donal . He was very good friends with our late Parents Paddy and Kathleen , they loved going on the Lourdes trips with him . Also Dad and himself had many a discussion on the results of the Munster Finals over the years as Dad was from Cork . The conversation would be very entertaining. Rest In Peace Fr. Donal .

Our family have been parishioners of Holy Cross for over fifty years. In that time the parish has been blessed with some wonderful priests & Monsignor Donal was certainly up there with the very best. He was a lovely man, kind & compassionate. My enduring memory is of a beautiful Sacrament of Reconciliation service on the riverbank in Lourdes. In particular Fr Donal listening so attentively and with such dignity & compassion to our late mother, Rita who had lost her speech after a stroke.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Mons. Donal. A true gentleman if ever there was one. A humble man despite his great learning and brilliance. He used to say Mass for the older members of Dundrum in Dom Marmion House and he would uplift the spirits of the people with good humour while being reverent at the same time.
