An inspiration to me as a young chef. I still use many of Mrs Allen's recipes daily from Jane's biscuits to her wonderful brown yeast bread. A truly special lady, it has been over 20 years since I worked at Ballymaloe but it is never far from my heart. My thoughts are with all of the Allen clan at this sad time.

Absolutely heartbroken to hear of the passing of Myrtle. A truly amazing, warm, compassionate & consummate professional at all times.
