Beautiful Memories of Ned and Maura, Biddy, Mrs Somers, the shop and its multitude of visitors - all dropping in for something but foremost for the chat. Ned and Maura: Exceptionally warm, bighearted and tolerant, passing no judgement on anyone, welcoming to us all. Thankyou, Ned and Maura. Eternal Rest, oh Lord, grant unto them and unto the souls of all the faithful departed.
Your kindness and welcome to me over many years never to be forgotten- xxx

So saddened to hear of Ned's passing, my sincere condolences to all of Ned's relatives and friends, you were all so very lucky to have such a wonderful person as Ned in your lives to enrich you.
Ned was one of natures gentlemen, a real Waterford character and treasure with a heart of gold who will be missed by so many. His little corner shop on the Lower Yellow Road at the Corner of Clashrea Place was an aladdins cave to the many children who grew up or came or went from the area. Whether you wanted dip dabs, rainbow drops, fizzel sticks, a bar of two and two chocolate or a quarter of bulls eyes from the many sweet jars along the shelf Ned was sure to have it. He was like a magician performing tricks behind the counter and always had a way of delivering the sweet treat whether on display or not that each child wanted... Ned just loved the tricks and banter with his young customers and their parents alike. My 3 children would walk to Ned's to collect the Sunday papers for their Grandad and buy chocolates for themselves, they so looked forward to it at anytime as going to Neds was always a real adventure for them.

Ned and his late wife Maura were also such lovely neighbours to everyone in Green Street, making new neighbours to the street always feel welcome.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
