in memory a very special man, a great uncle, fisherman and story teller. He was always the gentleman and made time for all no matter what age they were, especially when it came to telling the children about the mermaids!! Our trips to Ireland will be sadder at not being able to spend time in his company but we will always cherish our very fond memories of Uncle Noel and I will raise a glass of the dark stuff in his memory and to all our other dear family who have sailed off into the sunset.
— Liam, Lorna, Maisie, Jessica and Robert Sainsbury
Uncle Noel we will long remember the many fine times we spent in your company. Your sense of fun and lightheart was a special quality you brought to us all. You were probably the best story teller I have every had the pleasure of listening to and I am still looking for those Lions on Wanstead flats. I know the gang will miss you massively but they will continue to do you proud. Bon voyage and Good Bless.

Noel, definitely one of life's gentlemen. I met Noel many years ago when he was working for P J Walls. It was always a pleasure to arrive on a site as a sub-contractor and discover Noel was the man in charge. You always knew everything would be in order. We remained friends for ever after that, respecting each others experience and not afraid to phone each other to check a detail. He carried great respect (earned) throughout the trade. Of course it helped our friendship that I lived in Bray also and was a member of Civil Defence during the time of Hullicane Charlie when Noel also turned out with his boat to help.
May I offer my sincere condolences to those family and friends he leaves behind, His type does not come around very often . He will be sadly missed. Matt Byrne
