I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Noel, he was a true gentleman and a genuine, honest, hardworking politician - I worked in Leinster House in the late 80's and Noel always looked in to say hello and check that everything was going well for me in the "big smoke"! Being from Ballinakill and participating in Scor competitions was another connection and Noel was always full of praise and support for us, especially in the finals. Sincere sympathies to Mary and all of Noel's family, may he rest in eternal peace.
— Irene Conway Devine

Condolences to all the Treacy and Cloonan families and to Marian and Noreen.
Noel was a man of integrity who never had his fingers in the till . Straight and honest and bereft of guile , an absolute credit to politics .
Should have been in the Cabinet for years but his total loyalty to Fianna Fáil was taken for granted by successive leaders and Noel always put Party first unlike many of his contemporaries who had disloyalty rewarded with promotion.
I hope the Great God has rewarded you adequately.
Rest peacefully Noel!
— John P Fahy

Saddened to hear of the much too early death of Noel and regret very much to have missed his obsequies.
Noel and the late Charles Lynch invested in my business by way of grant aid when very few had any belief in its chance of success. But it did and I owe my success to those two outstanding mould breakers.
I will forever be in Noel’s debt and I promise Mary to pray for him every day until we meet again!
R.I.P. Noel ……LAOCH!🇮🇪🇮🇪

Comhbhrón ó chroí do Mary, a clann, muintir Treacy agus Cloonan uilig, ar bhás Noel Treacy, RIP.
Bhí aithne agam ar Noel ó na 1970í - ag cluichí peile í bPáirc de hÍde, ach is minic a chasamar le chéile ó shin i leith, ag ócáidí éagsúla ar fud na tíre.
Bhí sé soiléir ón tús, gur fear, cairdiúil, lách, cumasach a bhí ann. Ba polaiteoir ildánach é Noel, i chuile Roinn a d'oibrigh sé.
Slán go fóill a chara agus is féidir a rá i do chás sa -- "Níl sa bhás ach múchadh an choinnil roimh éirí geal na gréine".

Saddened to hear of Minister Treacy’s too early passing.
Unforgettable days in the Department of Health in the early 90’s when I worked with Minister Treacy and Rory O Hanlon. We literally didn’t have a pot to pee in, but we had two remarkable men heading up our Department .
Will never forget the night in Roscommon when the protesters nearly overturned the car. Minister Treacy never even blinked !!!!
Will always have fondest of memories of those days. It was my privilege to have worked for him.
In his own inimitable words “Mighty Man”!
I’ll never,ever forget him.❤️❤️
