Nora Smith

My deepest sympathies to the Smith family on the passing of Nora. May she rest in peace. I have the fondest of memories of her when I had the privilege to work with her in St. Anne’s.

The lessons I learnt from Nora at her hockey courses organised by the LHA in the mid 70’s were never forgotten.
Nora had the ability to make the game simple for both children and coaches.

I am so sorry to hear of Nora's death. Nora was one of the best half backs to play for Muckross, Leinster and Ireland. We are so sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of our dear friend Nora. We enjoyed many visits and cups of coffee in Maghery, we will so miss your visits. Sincere sympathies to Lorraine, Peggy, Michael, Mary and family.

So sorry to hear of Nora,s passing. She coached all eight teams in Genesis at one stage and knew every one of us by name. Her genuine enthusiasm, dedication and interest in all of us as players and people will always be remembered. May she rest in peace.

Miss Smith was one of my favourite teachers. She treated us all with respect and fostered our love of sport and school. One of my fondest memories of St Anne’s was playing hockey and rounders with her. She will be missed so much.

So sorry to hear of Noras passing, absolutely loved her in St. Anne's kept us on our toes but with a wonderful sense of humour, still think of her to this day great hockey coach and woman.

My deepest sympathy to the Smith family- I have many wonderful memories of the camping trips we took with Nora and Loraine and of time spent in Maghery. Nora was such fun, she made every day spent with her into an adventure. She will be greatly missed and you are all in my thoughts.

Condolences to Nora's family and friends. As a former pupil at St. Annes I will always remember Ms. Smith. She was a great Vice Principal and PE teacher. She was very popular with students and I admired her fearlessness. RIP

Deepest condolences to Nora's family and friends. She left a lasting impression on anyone who was lucky enough to know her through St Anne's Hockey teams and beyond. Always encouraging and full of great advice and such a hearty laugh! Thinking of Lorraine also and the great 'friendly' matches we had with OLG. A sad loss for all, but an honour to have known her over the years. Rest in peace now Nora.

So many happy memories of Nora as our P.E teacher and of playing hockey in St Anne’s. I also remember Lorraine umpiring our important cup and league matches and those local derby matches against the Grove. May she Rest In Peace.

Even though I wasn't great at hockey I remember Miss Smith as a passionate, very fair & encouraging PE teacher during my time in st. Anne's 1972-77. May she now rest in peace after a long & full life. Deepest Condolences to all who mourn her loss.

What an inspirational, fearless and fair woman. Ms Smith knew how to live life and encouraged everyone she taught in St Annes to do the same. She taught me to reach for my dreams and has been a hugely positive influence in my life. She took us to many hockey and swimming glories and has been a positive influence on sport remaining a part of my daily activities.

I will always hold dear Ms Smith's influence in my life and my time at St Annes (1972 - 1977). May she rest in peace. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
