Dear William and Robin, I am very sorry to hear of the deaths of your lovely parents. I enjoyed working with your Mum in Mount Temple, and I always enjoyed your Dad's conversation, gentleness and beautiful manners. We had many a chat about cricket and architecture. I liked your parents very much, and I will miss them. I am praying for both of you at such a sudden loss. You both inherit such a lovely temperament from your parents. Brendan

Deep sympathies to Patience and family on your sad loss. He was such a gentle and kindly man Norman and I knew each other through the Accountancy Profession and of course cricket as Malahide played Cork County frequently in the last 10 years. He was a pillar of the Umpires Association in Leinster. both on and off the pitch. At the opening of the new splendid CPA headquarters in Harcourt Street, Norman, a former President, celebrated with the other accountancy bodies by dispensing liberally Irish Coffees at 11 in the morning. The rest of the day was a blur. We are grateful for all the many voluntary hours he gave to others. May he rest in peace.

Dear Patience, William and Robin
My sincerest condolences on your loss of Norman. I think I met you Patience only once and neither William nor Robin, but I have known Norman for many years through Old Wesley RFC and regarded him as a friend and a true gentleman, with a lovely sense of humour. We perhaps only played together on the same team a handful of times but you could always rely on Norman to give his utmost to anything he was involved in - whether it was touring in Amsterdam or playing in Brewery Road or on the touchline in Donnybrook. I, like many, will miss his company, but we are the richer for knowing Norman.
