My heartfelt sympathies to Lisa, Ian, Maurice and Brendan, Nuala's extended family and friends.

Nuala was a fine lady: of great integrity, magnanimous in spirit, generous in love and compassion for all. She was filled with enthusiasm and fun. She has left quite a legacy.

To borrow a line from a poem, Nuala would want us now to

'' turn again to life and smile''

Part two ... continued:
In lieu of flowers, walk in the trees and watch the light fall into them. Eat an apple, a really nice big one. I hope it’s crisp.
Have a long soak in the bathtub with candles, maybe some rose petals.
Sit on the front stoop and watch the clouds. Have a dish of strawberry ice cream in my name.
If it’s winter, have a cup of hot chocolate outside for me. If it’s summer, a big glass of ice water. If it’s autumn, collect some leaves and press them in a book you love. I’d like that.
Sit and look out a window and write down what you see. Write some other things down.
In lieu of flowers, I would wish for you to flower.
I would wish for you to blossom, to open, to be beautiful.'
— Emer & Paul Kenny
To Ian, Lisa, and all of Nuala's family & friends,
Thinking of you all and sending our love. I came across these words and thought I'd share them with you:
'Although I love flowers very much, I won’t see them when I’m gone. So in lieu of flowers: Buy a book of poetry written by someone still alive, sit outside with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and read it out loud, by yourself or to someone, or silently.
Spend some time with a single flower. A rose maybe. Smell it, touch the petals. Really look at it.
Drink a nice bottle of wine with someone you love.
Or, Champagne. And think of what John Maynard Keynes said, “My only regret in life is that I did not drink more Champagne.” Or what Dom Perignon said when he first tasted the stuff: “Come quickly! I am tasting stars!”
Take out a paint set and lay down some colours.
Watch birds. Common sparrows are fine. Pigeons, too. Geese are nice. Robins.
... to be continued

Deepest Sympathy to Ian Lisa and Frank. Brothers Maurice and Brendan, Family and friends .on the sudden and unexpected death of our dear friend Nuala. A friendship which spans over 6 decades.
We miss her dearly.,her long chats, always up for a laugh, her irrepressible enthusiasm.,new projects, never giving up hope,,always looking after others, Took her many health issues with great resilience and patience. She achieved her long ambition to go to see St Pio's Shrine at San Giovanni Rotondo.
Rest in Peace Nuala .
Love and Light to you,as you always ended your correspondences with this salutation.

You were indeed a strong Woman.

Here's to you Nuala.

Strong Woman Vs. Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out everyday to keep her body in shape,
but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything,
but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her,
but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone.

A strong woman walks sure footedly,
but a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls.

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face,
but a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey,
but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.
