Sincere sympathy to the Haughian family on the death of your Mam. I first met Nuala in my days with Saint Brigids GAA. In those times, more often than not, I was the only adult with the team, so my favourite bus driver doubled up as a selector and team mentor, a formidable lady, a great companion and a great support. In more recent years the meetings have been fewer, confined to meeting up at mass or shopping. However the encounters were always memorable and the warmth of her greeting was second to none. When I think of your Mam, I see her smile and hear her laugh, may she Rest in Peace.

My deepest sympathy to the Haughian Family on the passing of Nuala. I first met Mrs. H through the Blessington and District Forum many years ago and we grew to become great friends. She was a force to be reckoned with, always had her community at heart and was an amazing woman for a chat. I could spend hours upon hours on the phone to her chatting about everything and anything. Many a day my daughter Ruby would come home from school and find me chatting on the phone. When she would ask who I was speaking to and I replied "Mrs H", she would say "see you in an hour or two." I will miss our conversations. We were kindred spirits and would chat about how we could put the world to rights. Our loss, is Heavens gain. Sleep tight Mrs H you will be missed by so many but the legacy you leave behind will live on.

I extend my sympathy to Ciarán, Seán, Éilís, Áine, Mairéad, Sinéad, Diarmuid, Éamonn, Hugh, Cathal, Niall, Nuala, Cormac, Sheila and Grace along with all your families on the unexpectedness sudden passing of your mother. Her arrival with Pat all those years ago to Oldcourt of course meant that the place could never be the same ever again. It was in 1999 with the football team well complete by then, including her "lántosaí clé", she fully parted with the €100 deposit in garnering the 245 precious first preferences. FOI requests may reveal that Nuala did not have to go outside her own door to get statutory declarations from the required number of assenters. Our paths crossed less regularly in recent years but most definitely at Easter and Christmas vigil ceremonies in MKB and she would warmly nod approval to the musical offerings. May Nuala rest in peace.
— Martin Craul
Mrs H was a great woman. A true one off and force of nature. Did so much for the community and the club alongside bringing up her incredible family. Was selling raffle tickets at the field day less than 2 days before she passed, a legend to the end!. She'll be missed but never forgotten. RIP Mrs H

Deepest sympathies to Áine and all of the Haughians, many of whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.
Gorgoeus Nuala, was there ever a person so well loved and respected who would bring a smile to everyone? She pulverised various illnesses that would have destroyed other people possibly purely with her force of nature and I was lured into a false sense that she would keep on doing so forever.
My favourite memory is her coming downstairs at Russell Road in a towel with her hair in a turban. One of her daughters suggested that she might want to put on some clothes after 2 hours had passed, but she having none of it!
Anyone who managed to bring up 15 Haughian’s deserves a medal in my book, and I sincerely hope she’s got her feet up now, asking your Dad “I did well with them, didn’t I?”
Rest in Peace Nuala, thank you for bringing a bit of Sparkle into all of ours lives.
Much love,
Fran xxx
