Deepest sympathies to the Keenaghan family on the sad passing of your beloved Ollie. I hope that Patricia, Audrey, Brendan, Declan, and Barry can find solace at this time in the many happy memories they have of Ollie, and in knowing that they are blessed to have had such a wonderful husband and father. Ollie was everything you could imagine a great neighbor and father should be. Whether you were 7 or 70, he had a smile and a jovial comment for everyone, and would always sincerely inquire as to how you were keeping. When I was 15 years old, my family were involved in a car accident in Roscommon that left my mother and two of my brothers with serious injuries. Ollie drove up the country to visit us in hospital. When we opened our shed door after returning home, we found that it was packed with turf from our bog in Ballylongford, ready for us to use. Ollie had rallied other men to spare a few hours after work over many evenings and weekends to turn and foot, and then collect and bring our turf home. It spoke volumes about the kind of person he was. His act of generosity towards us was just one of countless acts in his life in the service of others both in Kerry and in his native Offaly. When Ollie and the Keenaghans left Tarbert in the early 2000s, our village was a lesser place without them. And when Ollie left this life in June to begin his eternal reward, a light went out in the world. Rest in peace Ollie, and may God bless you always.

It was with a very heavy heart that I learned of Ollie's passing. Patricia, Audrey, Brendan, Declan, Barry and grandchildren you have my deepest heartfelt sympathy. My memories of Ollie goes back to the 70's as a youth club member, and later as leader with him, we both then went on to Tarbert Development and when Ollie agreed to be a trustee of Tarbert Bridewell. His commitment to his community was never in doubt. His gentle manner and ability to be a great listener always came to the fore. He had a brilliant sense of humour but more importantly you could depend on Ollie to call it as it was. Ollie my friend you will be greatly missed by all who were privileged and fortunate enough to know you and called you their friend. This world will be all the poorer without you. May your gentle soul rest in peace . Trish & Kitty Griffin 🙏🙏🌹🌹
