I was very sorry to hear belatedly of Oliver Perkins passing. I have many fond memories of him. Initial childhood memories of Drombane and later kind encouragement to me when we crossed paths in UCD Engineering. Over the years, I was lucky enough to work for him on various assignments in Meath and it was a joy. He was great fun while always trying to do the ver6 best for the community he served. Sincere sympathy to Kathleen and the family RIP

Sincere sympathy to the Perkins family on the passing of Oliver - to his wife Kathleen and family, to his sister Bridget Bourke and all the Clancy connections. He will be missed greatly by a host of friends. We cycled from Upperchurch to Thurles CBS together, hurled with school teams, and practised in the Orchard, as we got close to ‘big school days’, Harty cup dates etc. We played a lot and won little. Oliver was a hardy skilled back man – a principled colleague, a talented singer and a lively ‘gas man’. The ‘townies’ and ourselves had many encounters from the Railway field – as the’ Church’ lads – led by Oliver.
May Oliver’s soul rest in peace.
