Paddy will be sorely missed by a lot of people far and wide.
Discover Ireland and Bord Fáilte missed a trick not having Paddy as a brand ambassador. He attracted people to both himself and the town of clifden. People have returned to the town only to come back to meet Paddy Mac. It didn't matter wether you came from Templemore or mountjoy you got the same cordial reception.
Paddy was my greeting party when I arrived to Clifden nearly 20 years ago. We shared many a good conversation over a pint, laughter was guaranteed, guidance was given and friendships were made.
Connemara is mourning tonight. Keep the light lit Paddy. Keep us safe from stormy seas.
