Sincere sympathy to Rita, Aonghus, Aedín and Pádraig and the extended Moloney family on the death of Paddy. He was an amazing musician, great company and a proud ‘Dub. Paddy showcased the uilleann pipes and traditional music throughout the world and was a great ambassador for Ireland. He was highly regarded by his fellow musicians in the traditional music community. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.

A few pals and I were at the famous concert in the Adelphi or Carlton cinemas. The packed crowd wouldn’t let them finish and everyone had to walk home because the last buses had pulled out !Paddy told me years later , they didn’t want to leave either! God Bless you Paddy.

Although I never met him Paddy came across as simply a lovely man, so humble, sincere and so talented musicalIy. I loved his interviews and musical performances on TV. I was so lucky to see Paddy and The Chieftains perform at a Charity concert in Barrettstown, Kildare some years ago. It was a fun filled evening of brilliant music, song and story telling with Paddy at his best. I will never forget that performance. Thank you Paddy for the wonderful memories and for being such an ambassador for our traditional Irish music, song and dance. You have left a wonderful legacy which will live on in generations to come. Rest in peace Paddy.
