Rita & family, I was very sorry to hear of Pat’s death. I worked with him in FAS for years. Pat was always very kind, thoughtful and particularly helpful to anyone who had any problem. He was the first person from work to ring me when my daughter had surgery in Crumlin over 25 years ago. That reassuring phone call meant a lot to me at the time. He was exceptionally talented and gifted at his work and very supportive. He came to my aid on several occasions and I have very fond memories of him. I am thinking of you all at this sad time.
— Maureen Ryan
Sincere Sympathy Rita to you, Eimear, Brid, Mary and Padraig. Agnes and myself have many fond memories of Pat from our time with him in AnCO/FAS from when he started in 1976.
Agnes has many stories of the Childrens' Xmas Parties when Pat organised the old Black and White Films to later the 'Discos' and he took all the photos of the children with Santa so patiently...and always with a smile.
I found Pat always willing to help me whenever I walked into his Curriculum department.x

Deepest sympathies to Rita and family and the Costello family on hearing the news of the passing of Big Pat as he was known as in Bord Na Mona. He was a great character with nothing on his mind as a young man only music. He intertained us all in bnm either playing the banjo or playing the drums with welding rods and all the nights we were intertained on the radio. He was a very generous person. May you rest in peace big Pat
— Larry Bryan and Gilbert Bryan
Sincere condolences to Rita, Eimear, Mary, Bríd and Padraig on the loss of Pat.

I first met Pat in 1980 and we had an instant friendship. He was a giant of a man in so many ways, particularly in his intellect, music, audio, photography, art and recording skills as well as so many other aspects. He was a witty, introspective and capable gentleman and was a repository of vast knowledge of a very wide range of topics, including how to make a great beef curry. He never ceased to amaze.

I am sure that all who knew him feel a huge sense of loss at his passing but particularly his family. Rest in peace old friend.

Sincere condolences to all the family on this very sad occasion, especially to Mary, Christopher and Clíodhna. Pat was a very special man with a heart of gold and a genuine grá for the music. We were so grateful when he donated his sound equipment to the Rosses Community School to create Store Studios. Joe Rodgers and I spent many happy hours there recording for the Christmas CD 'Meitheal na Nollag' in 2013 and were delighted to have Paddy there for the launch night helping Joe on sound. He will be sorely missed.
RIP Pat. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam diliís.

Rita, Eimear, Mary, Bríd and Pádraig, grandchildren and sisters, with shock and sadness may we extend our condolences at this difficult time for you all.
A great neighbour and work colleague for years in ANCO & FÁS. and most of all a true friend.
Memories which bring smiles and tears at this time of separation. Years of fun, debate and music when we lived in Shannon.
"An expert on everything and real good at everything else"
I often said about him and to him.
A to Z he had knowledge; music, sport, nature, history, the list was endless.
The chef, ahh Rita
