Very saddened to hear of Pat's sudden and untimely passing. Thoughts and prayers are with the Hooper family. A proud Olympian and Raheny athlete, a true gentleman giving of his time and sharing his athletic knowledge particularly to the “Bears Club” Training weekends in Gormanston and to the Special Olympic athletes in facilitating them competing in the Graded Meetings. Always remembered. Ar Dheis De go bhfuil a ainm dilis.

To all the extended Hooper family and the members of Raheny Shamrocks.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Pat. He was a legend, not only in his beloved Raheny, but throughout the wider Irish athletics family.
While they were our keenest northside rivals, nobody was happier than Clonliffe Harriers to see Raheny finally achieve the holy grail in 2016 and that Pat lived to see their historic victory. A keen competitor , he was also a gentleman off the race course and will be forever remembered by all those lucky enough to have crossed his path. RIP

Dear Maura
It does not seem so long ago since we were in our community room cheering Pat on in his big race. We were all so excited for his Mum and Dad and for all of you. But especially for, Uncle, Fr Firth, whom we knew so well as a brother to Sr Martha and our community .
Well, we can now hope that Pat has joined all gone before him in his family having fought the 'good fight' of life's journey. May he rest peacefully in his heavenly earned reward.
To his sorrowing family I offer my condolences and prayers.
God bless you all.
With thanks and memories Maura.

Extremely shocked and saddened at the news of Pat's death, may he rest in peace. Very fond memories of Pat when we worked in PMPA, Wolfe Tone Street. Pat was a most sincere and humble man who carried his success lightly, never a man to seek the limelight, despite his being so very talented.

I send my sincere sympathy to all Pat's family. May God be with you all at this very sad time. Mass will be offered for Pat at St. Josephs Church, Milford, Surrey.
