So sorry to hear this news Ciara, and all of the family. His presence will sorely be missed in the years going forward, I know.

As time passes, I have found that it tends not really to hurt any less, but more like you learn how to cope with the grief, and all of the good memories over everything you shared together become more prominent, and you find yourself smiling more upon thinking of him than you are tearful. I hope and wish that that day comes sooner rather than later for all of you who loved him so dearly.

With Deep Sympathy.

Dear Conor and Barry and the extended O'Mahony family, so sorry to hear recently of Pats passing...

He was a great character and true friend to my Dad Jerry, who like all of us, loved his company.

I met him recently in Westport and had a long and interesting chat with him about the Bank (which he was still so passionate about), politics, family and sport. We will miss him.

To Ciara, Eimear, Conor, David, Norma, Joan, Frank, Marion & Barry.

My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
It is hard to believe that Pat is gone from our lives so suddenly.

I first met Pat in the 70’s when he came to Kells in Co Meath to set up a new branch for AIB. He quickly hauled me in to introduce him to Co-Ops & farmers with the usual late-night sessions. He rapidly built up a thriving Branch for AIB & he was then moved to better things in the bank, always striving to improve the business & reached the top of the bank in Ireland. He decided to take a change of direction in the late 90’s & we both got together to get involved in Property Development & the hospitality business. Our company was called “Active Ireland” specialising in upmarket rentals, self-catering & activity holidays. Pat’s specialty was Marketing & he certainly made a great success of this. Some of the projects we undertook were very large. We had no legal agreements between us in place, just a shake of the hand, a testimony to Pat himself.

Pat was very compassionate & saw the good in people & I am aware of what he did for a lot of people without anyone even knowing. He was a genuine decent person, never looking for or expecting credit. He only had to be asked once, he was that type of person. He was one of life’s gentlemen with a great turn of phrase & left no one away with anything. I will miss him a lot & his good & well thought out advice.
