Really sorry frances and family for the loss of pat . I only knew him from outside the parade ring but Tara my daughter did and he rode work on the family mare on the curragh one day for her after which she told him she was thinking of running her in Galway over a mile and he told her that seemed right and went and got into his car . Ten minutes later he came back over and she thought god maybe I didn’t give him enough but he said I’ve been thinking about that mare maybe try her over further .maybe 10 furlongs or even further !!. Here was a multiple champion superstar trying to help a 2 horse trainer from the backwaters of Moone . Who else would have that kindness?

I am normally good with words but I am wordless for the past few days. I admired you so much as a jockey, led you up on numerous occasions - with mostly winners. I liked you tremendously as a person, you were the kindest, most considerate and memorable fella. I admired you even more after you became ill, what you did was phenomenal. I was very lucky to be a very tiny part of your life, the memories will live with me forever.
