My deepest sympathy to you Florence and to the extended families.
Pat taught me a lot over the years we had a very good personal relationship away from all challenges we both had to cope with.
Found him very professional and caring in everything he was involved with.
He would have visited me in our home in Cork in the early nineties after I moved south, and also to view our large computerised operation , I know we had a very late night on the town that night.
Even though we had many a battle across the table and after if things got heated a call would be made after to ensure things would remain normal.
Pat to me was very special person the fact I came from Maam originally and he had some contact with relatives of mine in his region from work he was doing on family tree our interest in getting to know each other was increased .
May his gentle soul rest in peace

A man of integrity and devotion in his role as union official. I have fond memories of Pat as a delegate to Galway Council of Trade Unions where his support and commitment was much appreciated and valued by all delegates. His role as 'unofficial' photographer at many union events was also appreciated and I'm sure he has a fine archive of historical union events. His wisdom and council on social issues, both local and international were always informative and ensured lively accurate debate. Pat contributed greatly to improvements to the working conditions and welfare of all workers with many benefiting from his input. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
