Rita, Roseanne, David, Paul and Niall. Sincere sympathy on Pat’s death. Mount Merrion Parish has lost a great friend and long-time colleague. Since he retried over ten years ago from his active involvement as a Volunteer Sacristan, Minister of the Word, official Parish Photographer, Communications Committee Member and Chairperson and monitor of the Parish Archives, we still talk about how he kept us challenged and entertained in the sacristy on Sunday mornings with interesting facts and stories collected from his other involvements in the Central Catholic Library and the Maritime Institute. Pat will be remembered forever in Mount Merrion - because in years to come whenever the story of the Parish is told, the photographs of so many of the landmark moments will have his professional stamp on the back of them. We pray that your memories of happy family times together will carry you through the months and years ahead. May he rest in peace.
— Brenda O Tighearnaigh, Mount Merrion

Rita, Paul, Roseanne, David, Niall - sincere condolences on the loss of a really wonderful man.

We in the Parish of Mount Merrion had the pleasure of Pat's input, and steadfast commitment over so many years - his time as a Sacristan, Minister of the Word, Chairperson of the Communications Committee, Parish Photographer, and archivist showed great support to the faith of the Parish community.

Personally, I spent so many Sunday mornings over 20 years with Pat discussing the latest updates on naval matters, his writings, the Maritime Institute, journalism, and parish happenings - he is greatly missed, and will continue to be remembered very fondly.

Go gclúdaí Dia é.

Liam

Pat recruited me into the Maritime Institute of Ireland in 1980 when I was a Cadet onboard the L.E. AISLING. I am still a proud member. My father had served with Colonel Tony Lawlor our founding President. Pat would regularly visit the various ships I served in over my career to stay up to date on Naval Service affairs and developments. Please accept my deepest and sincerest condolences on your great loss. " The Life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living" M.T. Cicero. Ár Dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam
