I always enjoyed his company on Tuesday Group walks, and can recall a very pleasant Christmas Lunch when I sat opposite Patrick and Barbara.

I am so saddened to hear of Pat’s passing. I was very fond of him and enjoyed our hikes so much - especially in India and Patagonia. A truly adventurous, gallant, wise and gentle soul. Thinking of you all. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Barbara and all the family. I first met Pat on the hike to Kilimanjaro and enjoyed many a hike with him on the hills around wicklow. He loved the hills and was a legend in hiking circles. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Pat. He was a legend in so many ways. I had the privilege of hiking with Pat on a number of trips including Kilimanjaro with his sons also and many great days out on the willow hills where he left us younger ones for dust with his speed and agility.
