I was so sad to hear about Patrick's death, he will be missed by so many. I was glad to be able to watch the funeral service earlier. It was a beautiful service, very touching and it was lovely to hear the anecdotes about Patrick from over the years and even when he was ill. Will, Geraldine and your grandson were all amazing in such difficult circumstances.

I have great memories of Patrick from the years that I have known him, he was a kind, funny man with a dry wit. He always talked about his family fondly. As a Munster supporter, I had to put up with many years of hearing about Leinster but all in good fun! Please accept my condolences to you, Will, Geraldine and his extended family.

Patrick was a former stalwart of the Dalkey Archives cricket team until a few years ago. All of us who played with him enjoyed his company and admired his skill with a cricket ball. We missed him very much when he decided to call it a day. Please accept the sympathies of all of us in the Archives.
