Our deepest sympathies to Kay, Paul, David and Mary.
Patsy was our "cool" uncle, always regaling us with great stories, especially about growing up in Hoggy Ba's with his beloved brothers and Ruth and David, the parents he adored. Everybody was so proud to see Patsy reach such a high level in his football career and so impressed by the spirit in which he always played the game. He left wonderful impressions wherever he went, it was always a joy to be in his company. He was a caring loving gentle gentleman with a heart of gold, it never surprised us that he turned out to be such a good poet as well. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to Paul, David, Mary on the loss of your wonderful Dad, Patsy.
It was an honour to play beside him on the Aer Lingus soccer team for years. I can't remember a bad word against an opponent, a lousy tackle, an argument with a referee, a yellow card during any game. He didn't need those tools, as he had class to burn. That also extended off the pitch at home and on the trips abroad where his singing and wicked sense of humour kept us all engaged.
Rest in peace, Patsy.
— Rom Hyde
