Pat, it is with great sadness that I read of the sudden passing of Paul and especially after the recent and untimely passing of your beloved son John. Sincerest condolences to the Cantillon family for the loss of both Paul and John. My heart goes out to you all at such sudden and profound loss.

I first met Paul with his wife "Auntie Pat" decades ago when I was a child. I remember him as a kind, charming, clever and good humoured man. He would tease me in the following decades that he was the "first real Kerry-man" I had met and "not like those jokes I told him".

Paul always had something to teach us. Whenever we met he had sound advice about sports, fitness, engineering, business and life. He and Pat generously let me stay with them in Dundrum when I was studying for my leaving cert and he offered sage advice on a few subjects that proved very helpful.

Paul was knowledgable about many topics in a low-key, humble and measured way. As our professional lives intersected, I met a few colleagues of Paul's from ESBI and they spoke of him with fondness and respect. He will be greatly missed by many, including the Dempsey family.

My very sincere sympathy to the Cantillon family on the very sad passing of Paul.
My memories of him go back to the 60's and 70's in Transmission Dept. ESB.
he was one of Natures gentlemen and a great colleague.

Pat, Colum, Paula and all the family , I was so very sad to learn of Paul’s death particularly only three weeks after your beloved John. I have so many happy memories of Paul visiting Waterford with you Pat - what lovely chats were had particularly with my late Mam and Dad Peggy and Davy . Paul had a keen sense of humour and a winning smile . He will be missed .
