I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news about Paul. I met him a few years back at a diving club in East London, and got to know him better when we spent a week diving in Scotland, a memorable trip that many of us in the club have fond memories of and still talk about. He was an intelligent, kind and gentle man, and we had some great chats. Thinking of all his family at this terrible time x

To all The Family I want to send my heart felt sorry that we have lost someone so special. I wanted you to know that Paul took me under his wing when we started diving together in East London and was my long term dive buddy throughout. He kept me going when I was scared, saved my life under water and unconditionally gave me his love.

I regret with uncontrollable sorrow that I let Paul dive alone so much this past year.

I have fond memories of the warm welcome i always received from the Connaughton
family when I visited daily as part of my civilian job with An Post.

I am so sorry to hear about Paul. I remember him fondly from primary school to inter-railing across Europe as a couple of teenagers to the odd chance meeting years later when back in Sligo.
