I have very fond memories of Peadar as my primary school teacher when I attended Scoil Iosagáin in Farranree Cork. He embraced his role not just as a teacher but as a gifted educator in introducing us to a much wider curriculum than just the text books. This was a very large class of 48 pupils which must have been quite a challenge in keeping everyone's attention. I had the pleasure of meeting Peadar one more time when I called to his home in Limerick in 1991 and he brought out the many photographic slides of that same class which he had taken including a weekend trip to Ballingeary and Gougane Barra. That evening we shared some humorous memories of school and he had a wonderful sense of humour. I was deeply shocked and very saddened to hear of his recent untimely passing and I'd like to convey my sincere sympathies to his wife and family.

It was with a deep sense of shock that I just became aware of the very sad departure of Peadar to his Eternal Reward, R.I.P.. I firstly became acquainted with Peadar when as a First Year Student in St. Patrick's Training College, Drumcondra in 1968 Peadar would have been a Second Year Student at that time. From the outset Peadar was such a true gentleman of the very highest calibre and has had such a totally inspiring influence on the education of Ireland especially during the many hugely significant developments in Primary Education since the 1970s. We shared a common interest in the world of Calligraphy but Peadar's magnificent talent in such splendidly ornate handwriting far surpassed my attempt in this Art. Peadar's interest in the Millstreet Parish area was heartfelt with of course Cullen as the centrepoint - the homeplace of Áine. Peadar truly enriched the lives of all of us who have been so privileged to have known him. Sincere condolences to Áine, their daughters, grandchildren and family. Ar dheis Dé raibh a anam dílis.

I'm very sad to read about the death of Peadar Cremin, a class mate of mine for 5 years in Tralee CBS , The Green , Tralee and later in St.Patrick's College of Education, Drumcondra. Peader was a gentlemanly scholar who achieved high academic success in his chosen field of education. My condolences to his wife and family.

It is with regret that we have learned of the passing of Professor Peadar Cremin, President Emeritus of Mary Immaculate College.

Peadar made an unparalleled contribution to Teacher Education in Ireland and to many other fields of education internationally. In his role as President of Mary Immaculate College and as a member of the University of Limerick Governing Authority, he played a pivotal role in the development of the positive institutional, professional and personal relationships that have established and built the link between Mary Immaculate College and the University of Limerick.

I know I speak for all the campus community in extending our condolences to Peadar’s wife Áine, his daughters, grandchildren and family and his colleagues in Mary Immaculate College.

May he rest in peace.
— Professor Don Barry, President, University of Limerick.
We at St Patrick's College Drumcondra, sister College to Mary Immaculate College Limerick, wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Peadar's family, and to his colleagues in MICL. Peadar was a great friend to the College and would have taken the long road to Dublin for many meetings in Drumcondra over the years. We deeply mourn his passing.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.
