I got to know him through his love of Irish music and language, local history, beekeeping and even turf cutting with a sleán. We used to give him a hand on the bog when we were young. Sincere sympathy to Sister Mary and Moylan family on the death of Peadar. I’ve fond memories of joining him when he formed a Muintir na Tire guild,1965, in Loughrea. He was instrumental in having “Contact” magazine published. He organised a wonderful Seumas O’Kelly memorial weekend, of displays,lectures, plays and the erection of plaque on O’Kelly House in 1968.

Very sad to learn of the passing of Peader. He was an active and engaging member of Tullamore Astronomical Society for many years and contributed enormously to it development.
