Peggie was a favourite customer of mine in my former job at Coffee delights in Bray. Her smile brightened my day and she really was a real life angel. Whether it was for her one egg and a few chips or just her pot of hot water and a read of the newspaper, it was always an absolute pleasure to serve her and have a chat. Peggie was our PE teacher in St Anne’s Milltown in the 1960s. She inspired me to become a PE teacher also. We met in schools when she did teaching practice with the students in Carysfort College. It was always a thrill to meet her. The last time we met was at an exercise class in the Lexicon in Dunlaoire and there she was in her 90’s showing us how it should be done.
My sincere sympathy to Peggie’s family, she was one in a million.

Peggie was my first cousin and I have nothing but good memories of her, especially teaching myself and my siblings how to swim - up in Bray Cove - where else!! I still remember her standing on the wall of the middle pool with a very long pole to which was attached a large loop - in to which us learner swimmers were put - one by one of course. And it worked - we all learned to swim and took part in swimming races during the summers out in Bray, thanks to Peggie - wonderful times, and great memories for everyone who knew her. She was so welcoming when we would call to see her - which was always a pleasure for us. She will be sorely missed by her family - a great life, well lived, May she Rest in Peace.
