We only got to know Peter in recent years, but he was always at the corner giving a smile, chatting to our baby. Peter was always there, he was part of the road, part of Clontarf, to see him out and about chatting to everyone.

He will be missed, not only by our toddler, looking up, shouting for Peter, but by all our neighbours.

Rest in peace Peter. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal

Home thoughts from abroad in honour of dear Peter Byrne. A very loyal, kind friend of more than 50 years to our late beloved brother, Seán. A gracious visitor to 377 during all that time. A gentle personality, respectful to our parents, always welcome in our family home, ever pleasant and equally grateful for any kindnesses. An enthusiast for Old Timers with a vast and profound, specialist knowledge of anything automotive, especially vintage and classic cars. An integral part of Raheny Folk Group. A willingness to help but never seek the spotlight. A familiar face, always extremely customer oriented in Killester Hardware before becoming a guardian of our cultural heritage of decorative arts & history in Collins Barracks in Dublin, including exhibits of our grandfather´s, so that we knew his work was under attentive care. An established member of the Clontarf community and a good, kind neighbour. A devoted son and selfless in his devotion to his mother in her latter years. Dear Peter, may your gentle soul rest in peace. You have passed on in dignity. You are not forgotten. Rath Dé ort agus síochán ar do anam dílis. Íde
