I have just heard of the very sad parting from this world of someone I have held in the highest esteem . My only regret is that I did not spend more time with him and Anne over recent years . I had the great honor of working with Peter when I was a young economist in PWC and I learned much from him professionally. His brilliance and his abilities were always a joy . Of equal importance was his sense of integrity and values . I still remember him telling me that we have nothing to fear but fear itself . His twinkle in his eye and his love for Anne and his children were also v special . I can only imagine their sense of loss . I hope however that they can reflect on all the good times and that they know their loss is a reflection of how lucky they were to share a life with someone so special , Peter also recognized how special they are . Ireland and the world is a little darker tonight but that is because Peter brought a brilliant light into society and all who had the privilege to share any time with him . Who could ask for more . With my deepest sympathy to Anne snd his beloved children and grandchildren and all his friends . Alan ,W , Gray

Peter and Anne were among the first people to welcome me to Dublin when I was a student; spending time with the Kellys enriched my introduction to their wonderful country. I loved getting to pal around with Jonathan, Judy, Benedict and Matthew. Peter once told me about a perfect day he experienced and his delight in describing the pleasures of an ordinary, yet special, series of events still makes me smile every time I think of it. It's been a gift to have this friendship with Peter and Anne. I think the world of them and I will miss Peter very much. My heart goes out to Anne and all the Kellys.
