Sincere condolences to family and close friends.
Saddened to just hear this news.
— Anne Marie Deacy
Sympathies to Pete’s family. So sorry to hear of his passing. Had many a chat over the years since first meeting in Baltimore, Maryland in 1989. Rest in peace.
— Joe Skelton - Galway
Peter you gave me one of the big travel memories of my twenties when myself and my mate/drinking buddy shared an airplane with you and with your buddy too and we were all going to Madrid from Shannon. We had the chats leading through the rope barriers that Ryanair made so elaborate and a few bullseye baggies of vodka en route and then I remember the pleasure you gave us when we landed and when you played the whistle and the bodhran together. And more so the pleasure that the folks going by got from that. You were great company for a couple of Connemara men and I was proud to have met you.

So sorry to hear of Pete's passing - he was a one of Galway's unique characters, a great musician and always good company to meet for a pint. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and remember him fondly. My deepest condolences to Pete's extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

So so sad and shocked to hear of Peter's passing. I've nothing but great memories of his lilting music in the lane and his wonderful generosity in teaching Kevin and making a CD for him to help him learn the tunes. Acting together in John Arden and Margaretta D'Arcy's Non Stop Connolly Show in the Town Hall Theatre he was great in the part, and regularly bumping into him in the phone booth/internet shop on High Street pre mobile phone days when he'd be ringing his Mum in England and I'd be ringing my sisters in Australia. And memories of such interesting conversations of his travels. A really lovely kind man. I often wished he would have played on Shop St and not the little lane so he could have made a few more bob and then again The sounds of his notes and tunes hauntingly filled the lane like they never could have on the main Street. You will be missed. Geri

Now he has joined that elite Galway group in the Heavenly Busker's Lane.
