Philip O'Brien

Philip was good company. Tom and I always enjoyed spending time with him and Brenda. Interesting to talk to, sincere, very talented in so many fields, generous, kind, thoughtful, wise, meticulous, always willing to share his expertise.
His love for his family was so strong. He was hugely proud of them and they of him. So many happy memories.

Philip bore his illness very bravely, unselfishly caring and staying interested in the concerns and troubles of others despite his own suffering
A good man taken too soon.

We have just heard the sad news of Phil's passing. We both worked with Phil in LCC when we all shared an open plan office between the Fire and Housing Sections. Phil was a lovely man. A genuine man who had a fun sense of humour and had interesting stories to tell, including those of his time living in America. Poignantly today, a memory came up on Facebook of photos taken at Phil's retirement do, just 8 years ago, which makes this news even sadder to take in. Thinking of your Brenda and our heart felt condolences go out to you and your family. RIP Phil, you will be greatly missed.
