It was lovely growing up in the good old days on leighlin road in Crumlin where Philo was reared by his granny. We always played together as kids on the road and he was known locally as snowy.
I didn't get to know you as well your mother or Snowy as you lived in England. Rip now and hug your ma and Snowy from us. Condolences to Philip's three children and his step brother and sister that he sadly didn't get to know in this life and also to your extended family.
— The Cunningham family

I had the most memorable experience of meeting Philomena in Sutton. On realising my great love of Thin Lizzy, she allowed me to accompany her to Phil’s grave and then on to Glen Corr for tea. What an honour to meet his beautiful, elegant mother whose generosity and loving nature will always stay with me. Coladh sámh, Philomena.

Philomena, was such an icon. Loved and respected by so so many, she will be sadly missed.

No doubt a heavenly hug from Philip awaited her for so long. In his arms now with love and melodic tears raining from the Heavens.

Now the stars will light the sky for her as the ones on earth mourn her passing with great fondness.

RIP you beautiful soul.

Dear Philomena
Not many words can express my gratitude to you for your kindness and your generosity with your time and your love for the fans of your boy. Thanks for keeping his flame glowing bright and for being the mammy of all us Lizzy fans. You like your son will never be forgotten by any of us. You battled bravely but it's time to go home now and give Phil a proper clip round his ear , and then a big hug and a catch up. We love you Phyllis, thank you so much for everything. Rest in peace.

Very sad to hear of the passing of such a lovely woman. She was always extremely generous with her time doing what she could for anyone. She visited my students at my Youthreach centres in both Basin-lane and later when we moved, in Crumlin Youthreach. Many of my students benefited from her wise words of advice and she was passionate about educating young people regarding the perils of drugs. A lady through and through and in a personal context, a valued friend of our family. May she RIP.
