I have such fond memories from his visits to College Road, Mountbellew with Chrissie & Tim RIP and the weekly chats in the Square Mountbellew on a Tuesday with his loyal friend Denis. His wit, character and humour will be missed by all who knew him well. May the angels reward him of his kindness to others. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of PJ.
Sincere condolences to Eileen, the extended Ruane and Costello families.
PJ was a huge character in the Skehana Community and had a great love of hurling. He never spared us in training trying as hard as he could to make men out of us young lads !!,
He was an interesting and unique character who loved his Community, he will be hugely missed.

Sincere sympathy to Eileen & family, Fergal, Densie, Emer, Brian, David ,Paul Aoife, Joe, Mary & all the extended family on the passing of PJ, what a gentleman, my memories of PJ are ironically at Christmas, for as long as I can remember PJ would arrive the the holly every Christmas Eve, and if any one had a sore throat PJ s honey would be send for...He was a very intelligent man , but he had time for everone young & old and always had a glint in his eyes...and he loved to smoke the pipe and smell of it while chatting to him leaves a smile on my face...our familes friendship goes back many years..Im sure ye will be lonely over the next few days, rest in peace PJ , we will never see you likes again...

PJ was a regular to our weekly quiz in Dunmore, we had many great nights full of fun & laughter. He gave sound advice & he was like an encyclopedia with his wealth of knowledge. We share in your grief at this sad time, his funeral mass was a fitting tribute to this fine man. His likes we'll never see again.
