Rachel was a friend from school. I had not met her since school but she was a friend I kept in touch with via facebook. The St Saviours crowd were clearly a great vintage as not many people I know had enough memories to spend hours chatting about their schools days.

I was very sad to hear the news this morning and can only pray for the kids. It is a horrible thing to happen to someone so young. It is a horrible thing to happen on christmas day even more.

When my own dad died, I was only 13 and I remember one card that reminded us of him. It pointed out that whilst he was not a rich man, his rich friends were envious of him in life and more so in death. When they died, people would fight over his money. When he died, his family kept going. He now has ten (and counting) grandchildren.

Rachel, you were clearly a wonderful mum. Pray for us all and know you will never be forgotten.
