I was very fortunate to have met Fr Tom in Claremorris 40 years ago last month when he interviewed me for my job which i still hold to this day here in SMA House Claregalway..
Fr Tom was a caring and respectfull man who always made time for a chat...he loved SMA
and through his many years of work tried to make life better for those working on the Missions..
May he rest in peace in the company of the Saints...

Non dimenticherò mai le estati passate in Irlanda quando ti presentavi alla porta di casa dopo ore di macchina solo x venirci a trovare a Roscommon!
Non dimenticherò mai quando sono stato a Dublino per giocare a calcio e mi portavi agli allenamenti!ricordo che quando mi allenavo da solo nel parco stavi un ora ad osservarmi interessato ma poi sbuffavi perché non finivo mai.!😂
Con te era sempre il momento per una tazza di tè con un biscotto o forse il contrario…😉.
Grazie x esser stato presente al mio matrimonio a fianco a don Rocco,ero davvero molto felice.

I'll never forget the summers spent in Ireland showing up on our doorstep after driving hours just to visit us in Roscommon!
I will never forget when I went to Dublin to play soccer and you took me to practice! I remember that when I was training alone in the park you were watching me interested for an hour but then you were puffing because I never finished.! 😂
With you it was always time for a cup of tea with a biscuit or maybe the other way around... 😉.

News of the death of Fr. Tom Harlow stirs all kinds of associations for us - Kilteevan, just out the road from Lanesboro; memories of a roomful of people in the mid 70's gathered with Fr. Tom telling stories of Africa and playing the guitar to introduce us to the FVC; meeting Fr. Tom at the Knock SMA pilgrimage over the years, and especially our long association with the SMA through Frs. Seamus & Michéal Nohilly and the sadness their recent deaths brings. We offer our deepest sympathy to Fr. Tom's family and all his SMA confreres. May he enjoy eternal peace with all who have gone before him.
