Dick was an important member of the Water Wag Club, and acted as the unofficial photographer for many years. He was a very hospitable member who held great parties in his house in Dalkey. When we were writing the Water Wag history, he was of great assistance to me. He owned Water Wags Tomboy and then Sara, until David stepped into his shoes. We are happy to have known him and give our condolences to David and the extended Clarke family.

We were so sorry to hear of the death of your lovely Dad. We had the pleasure of meeting him in your home a few times. A huge loss to you and all the family. May he rest in peace.

My sincere sympathies to the Clarke family on the passing of Dick. As a young naive enthusiast in the '80s Dick was ever supportive and inclusive when I was crewing the Water Wag of my great friend Hal. I have such happy memories, he was a great positive Influence on my life at the time. I met him in the past couple of years and was able to share these thoughts. I am so happy I did so. May he rest in peace.
