My lovely Uncle Dick,
You gave me some of the best memories I have. You were so much fun when I was a kid and into adulthood. You were so kind and just gorgeous. Kara shares the same feelings & will miss you in her life. You are so missed and loved - give my mam, nan & grandad a big kiss from me. Love always x

I am saddened to learn of Dick's passing. I was a customer of his for many years in Rawlton where he never let me down when it came to producing a plaque or other presentation piece which now grace the walls of public offices in many parts of Ireland. I used to enjoy the chat with him in his workshop in Sherrard Street with the aroma of wood forming a backdrop to his animated and good humoured conversation. My brother, Benny O Connor (rip) and Dick were the best of friends from childhood. Dick was heartbroken when Benny passed away suddenly some years ago. Sincere sympathy to Carina and the Keane family on the sad passing of Dick. I recall his commitment to New Ross during his time as Town Clerk in the early seventies, and fondly remember him giving me a copy of plans he had prepared for a town park on the site of the then town dump. That gesture proved to be the catalyst for the beautiful Pearse Park which has been much used and appreciated over the past forty years. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal.
