Jackie you may be known to a lot of people as Rt Rev but I remember you as Left Rev when you looked the other way, had a kind word when others had not, did not do it 'by the book' but let your Galway humanity show you the way. The tributes in this document don't come close to the breath and depth of your humanity. All I can say is Slan a Cara you were vintage.

When you get a minute, whisper in my good ear Mayo's chances this year I will keep it in pectora as our secret.

Father Baptized me as an adult, heard my first confession, gave me first communion, and confirmation. He baptized my children and gave them first communion. He also was our fire dept Chaplin for many years. Although I wish we could have seen him one more time and hug him one last time (he was a great hugger); heard one more joke, we are truly blessed and grateful for his many blessings. We are so fortunate to have known him. We love him and he will greatly be missed.

Irish Prayer

"May those who love us, love us; and those who don't love us, may God turn their hearts; ... "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal”

RIP our beloved Father Jack♥️

Greetings from Ocala, Florida - Blessed Trinity Catholic Church
Jack is a classmate of mine from St. Patrick's, Carlow. We were sorry to hear of his passing from this life but he is on his way home. I did a brief homily at his parish at all the Masses in McAfee, NJ about 10 years ago. Two of my parishioners came with me. We had a good time with Jack (RIP). He took his vocation seriously and was fully there to help all his people to live their Catholic faith. May he rest in peace.
— Fr Patrick J Sheedy
Sending our sincerest condolences to all of you as you say your final earthly goodbyes to Father Boland. I met Father B. in 1992 when my family joined the beautiful parish of St. Francis de Sales in Vernon, NJ. He welcomed us with open arms. Father B. had a way of making everyone think they were the best, which was truly one of his greatest gifts. He was there for us through all the good times and to help us through our darkest days as well. Father Boland was one of a kind, both a great man and gifted priest. He left this earth having lived his life the way God wanted and shared all of his wonderful gifts with so many people. When he was greeted at the Pearly Gates and asked the question he always loved, "What have you done with what God has given you?", I am certain his answer received an A+. We are all going to miss you so much and know you will continue to watch over us from Heaven above with all those who were called Home to God before you. We will cherish all of our wonderful memories of you Father B.

Until we meet again Father Boland, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. May you rest in peace.

You will remain forever in our hearts,
Liz, Scot, Jessica and Anthony

Sincerest love and sympathy to the Boland family on the tremendous loss of Rev. Monsignor John Boland.

One of God's most loving, faithful disciples has gone home. What a beautiful soul.

I am one of so many of the lives he touched and I will be forever grateful. He was an incredible priest and man.

My husband Steve and I had the privilege of being married by Father Boland almost 11 years ago at Saint Francis DeSales Church. From my very first meeting with Father Boland, I felt as if I was family. There was an immediate connection.

Anyone who was in his presence knows that anytime you were with him, you always walked away feeling better and special. He was a gift to us all.

Thankful and grateful for knowing such a beautiful man. His impact has been profound.

Eternal rest and peace Rev Monsignor John Boland
