Riobard O'Dwyer

Sincere condolences on the passing of Riobard.
No one in the whole of Ireland would have done what he did on local family genealogy. His research and what it took, and with the assistance of his late wife Joan and family, was so academic and truly worthy of a Thomas Davis lecture.
"I remember your visit to Butte, Montana, around October 1994 and the Radharc documentary on TV the following May of 1995."

sincere sympathies to all the o'dwyer family and friends. i did not know riobard, but i do know his relatives and they are all great men, industrious and intelligent, great americans and irishmen. i also know that ireland has lost a great man in riobard. tony burke, delvin, co.westmeath and berwick, maine.

Bobbie, my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Dad. I have fond memories of my visits to Eyeries and the warm welcome Joan and Riobaird always gave me. He was a wonderful ambassador for Eyeries. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. May Joan and Riobaird be reunited now and enjoy eternal rest together.

Bobby, Brian, Rory and Sean and families. I cannot believe Riobard has moved on. I thought he’d stay with us forever! He lives eternally in all our hearts. And Joan too. What’s the cat going to do now?? Knowing Albert he’s up there with Joan right now. I will miss calling in to see them both and laughing together.. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Riobard made such a valuable contribution to all with roots or interest in the Beara Peninsula and he was so encouraging to all of us amateur genealogists. My parents lived in Kinsale and we came to visit him and Joan many years ago. I will never forget how welcoming they both were and apart from tea and biscuits we were treated to a mini concert on the accordion !
May he rest in peace with Joan.

A blessed man has earned his wings and moved on. So sorry to not hear his music anymore and enormously grateful for his books of genealogy. No one has figured out Beara families like Riobard did and I'm so grateful. Prayers for his family. and their grieving process.

A really decent guy who lived life to the fullest. His genealogy help was much appreciated by many around the world. We will miss his great sense of humour, and his fine Irish tales. I particulary liked his stories of long and triple jump feats. The Saints must be singing today!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the O'Dwyer family and friends for your loss. Riobard helped me learn of my Harrington family genealogy back in the 1990's and I purchased his book. I am descendent of Patrick and Ellen (O'Sullivan) Harrington's son Patrick Joseph who emigrated to Kansas City, Missouri, USA in 1910. I am among the many, many grateful amateur genealogists who learned much about our families thanks to Riobard. What a special person he was! I will cherish the letters I received from him always. To Riobard's Family... My heartfelt condolences to you all at this difficult time. I spent the afternoon with your parents ten years ago and it is such a special memory for me. I hope the memories of your Dad will stay with you as he goes through the journey of being with your Mom again.

My sincerest condolences to the O'Dwyer family. Riobard contributed so much to the family histories of so many people from Beara and will always be remembered fondly on this side of the pond for his stories of life in Beara and his documentation of family histories. RIP, Riobard. I am sure you are playing your accordion and leading the dancing on the other side.
