Thank you for your kind words. We are being supported by incredible family and friends like you and I feel that these words of Cardinal Basil Hume which like a companionable silence between friends resonate and have been a consultation to us.

Children should not die before their parents…So we must deal with it ... and better able to because of the incredible wrap around support love and warmth we have felt for Jill Jason and family and myself and the memories of the goodness kindness and boldness they have of Robert. This gives us huge strength. We get consolation and insights on Rob on RIP.

As life is like skating on ice if you stop you may fall through. We must keep moving as there is no point in dwelling in sorrow in the past but enjoying the gems that were his life and looking forward. Thank you .love Cyril and Jill.

Dearest Cyril and Jill
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to me at what must be the worst time, it truly has warmed my broken heart.
I have held you both close to my heart this entire month and though I’m not great at words, my spiritual hugs have been around you both and of course my dearest Rob.
The eloquent message from your friend Michael rang so true in my heart on the person Rob was and still is spiritually.
I can’t begin to imagine what the grief of you as parents is like, no words, just sending so much love and strength to you both xx
My heart has lost a little piece, never to be replaced, tears come easily still.
I think of Rob everyday and summon strength from him, thankfully he lived a full authentic life by his own playbook, full of love, joy, adventure and kindness.
Missed by so many people he touched all over the world hopefully gives you both some comfort.
Words are escaping me now other than I love you both, and thank you again so much for reaching out it has meant more than you know as I loved Rob so much, we had plans going forward, never to be realised but can only be thankful of the time that we had.

I was very saddened to hear of Robert’s tragic passing. We were in college together and Surveyors starting off in London. I have great memories of Robert being very entrepreneurial, the first student I knew to have a mobile phone! A Mass will be offered for Rob by Missio London this Advent. Sincere condolences to all his family.

The death of a son or daughter  is so unexpected and awful. I was devastated by the news.
Robert and I chatted on 3 occasions.
In all my life Robert “touched me” in a way that has only happened on 3  other occasions.
 He was such a warm, empathetic giving person  in wanting  so much , to give of himself , to help my son Tom who has long suffered from depression.
Robert could not have been more understanding – more giving – in wanting to use his own experiences of  difficult times to be of help to another. Giving this offer totally and unconditionally.
Wanting to be of help to another [whom he didn’t know then] just because he felt this was the right way to lead his life .
To me this is the very essence of Christianity .
“Do unto others as you would wish they do unto you”.
 It is a time of huge sadness for you Cyril . And the rest of your family.
But rest assured -  Roberts nobility of character  and extraordinary decency will be long remembered  by those who had the pleasure and the privilege of  meeting/talking with him however briefly.
 May God have mercy on him.
I think if there is a heaven his homecoming will be assured and joyous.

I just heard of the tragic accidental death of your beloved son Bob .Words can't describe this nigh mare you as a family and his many friends are now enduring.. His life and your life changed utterly in an instance.
Hold on to the memory of the quality of his young life that has left an everlasting legacy having touched and enriched so many but especially you whose loss is greatest. His memory and life will live and grow in your love, that love experienced and expressed now in great pain ,sadness, grief and loss.
Love drives out all fear .Love is greater than death. Bob now dwells in God's everlasting love and they are very near .
