Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
— Audrey O Brien
I only found out that Robbie had passed away today.
I am in total shock and deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
I am sorry I did not attend his services I would have liked to express my condolescences to his family in person.

Robbie was my first boss in the Navy when we served together on Le EMER. Robbie was much more than a boss. He always took care of us and made sure we stayed on the right path in much different times. He helped those like me get apprenticeships and focus on getting our careers underway.

Even though Robbie and I worked together in Dell/EMC we rarely met. I met him more often on happenstance in the street in Cork. Robbie always with camera in hand and looking for a quirky photo. Which now will be cherished memories.

I just want to express my sympathy to Robbie's Family and if there is ever anything I can do for you please let me know.
— Eoin OHanlon
We want to express our sincere sympathies to Úna, Sophie, Jay, Charlotte, Julian and the extended French family on your sad loss. Sincere sympathy and prayers to All the Family on the sad departure of Robert to his Eternal Heavenly Reward. R.I.P.. We just had one great hugely interesting phone conversation in recent weeks during which Robert came across as a True Gentleman as he chatted so enthusiastically about the Art of Photography as well as the superb potential of celebrating Bloomsday not just in Dublin but very much so also in Cork. He was hoping to visit Millstreet for a special guided tour but very sadly this was not to be. It was Chris Murphy who very kindly alerted me to Robert's wish to visit Millstreet. Clearly Robert has truly enriched the lives of All in a wonderful manner. I feel greatly privileged to have made the acquaintance of such a gifted, kind, friendly and inspiring True Gentleman. God rest Robert's gentle Soul. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
