Chris, Peter , Brendan and all the family, I was so saddened to hear about Roses death. She was clever, funny and engaging and could tell stories like few others. I’m also remembering now how herself and Derry were really supportive to me many years ago. Roses passion for art and her determination to get her own way will forever be synonymous for me with the five hours that she sweetly persuaded me to queue with her for a Monet exhibition at the Royal Academy in London back in the 1990’s. Her passing is a great loss to us all.

We were very saddened to hear of Rosaleen’s death. For many years Rosaleen was a member of our writing group and up to her last few months was an enthusiastic and very active contributor to our weekly gatherings. Her writings were imbued with nostalgia, knowledge, charm and a vast amount of humour. A genuine lady with ever a smile on her face whose presence will be hugely missed by all of us.

I first met Rosaleen many years ago, when she was working in ISPCC, and I was a recently graduated teacher volunteering there.
After her retirement, she came to volunteer as a Literacy tutor with Altrusa, where I was working. Her active mind and deep love of reading was put to great use.

We continued to meet at Mass for many years. It was always lovely to catch up.

May Rosaleen rest in peace.

I want to tell you I am Jerry‘s first cousin Joan from Donnybrook and later James Connelly place . I have great memories of Derrys mother and Derry and it’s an honour to be related to him and fond memories of the reports my mother sent me about when he had a child, et cetera and I found Rosaleen to be a very courteous and kind lady when I met her God rest her and may they be happy together for all eternity!
