Roy and Eileen will always be remembered for their great hospitality in hosting the King's Hospital Cork Past Pupils Re-unions during their time in St Finbarre's. Roy always produced an evening of entertainment and singing and he was a great link to an earlier period in the schools history, particularly his role in sport and the musical shows produced annually.

I write on behalf of the family of the late Tom Wynne, former President of the Irish Hockey Union, to offer our condolences to the family of Rt. Rev. Roy Warke. Tom often talked warmly about Roy Warke as a man of shared faith who also shared his love of hockey.

In his book '90 Years of the Irish Hockey Union' Tom wrote: 'Carl Anderson recalls an Ulster-Connaught match at Londonbridge Road in 1970 when Ulster forced 22 penalty corners, without reply, and still had not scored after sixty minutes of play. Two late Ulster goals saved their "blushes", but it was a close call thanks largely to the defensive exploits of the Rev. Roy Warke.'
May he Rest in Peace

Jane and Ruth.
Thinking of you both at this sad and difficult time losing your Mother and Father so close together.
Bishop Roy was an absolute gentleman. Kind, Welcoming and Generous in so many ways. During his time as rector of Zion he did a lot for the parish. He also had the gift of telling stories with plenty of humour.

May Roy now rest in peace along with his dear wife Eileen.
— Andrew Sparks
In the words of his last hymn in Drumcondra North Strand, 'To Zion's hill I lift my eyes.' He was loved there as a pastor, where I was told pointedly as a curate that nobody visited as well as he did. As bishop I remember him introducing Gordon Linney at a meeting by saying, ' You all know who he is. Let me say who I am.' May his gentle and giving soul rest in the peace of the living Christ and rise in his glory.
— REV EG AND MRS HI ARDIS
