Dear Noreen, our deepest sympathy to you, Dearbhaile, Pauric and extended families on the untimely and very sad loss of Sean. He was a true and loyal friend, solid as a rock, always great company with well thought out positions on the issues of the day, both local and global. I recall a night in Kilkenny, many moons ago, when Sean pulled the cork from a bottle of whiskey and threw it into the fire explaining his father once told him it was the definition of a decent man. Sean was that and more. He is greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
— Pat & Maureen McEvoy
Sincere sympathy to Sean's wife Noreen and all his family at this sad time. Like Matt Cremin and Jim Keating I was at college with Sean and he was a lovely guy. He will always be remembered for organising "the Pecker (Paddy) Dunne, the travelling balladeer of international and Late Late Show fame, to perform at UCC during student's rag week about 1969/'70. True to form Sean put him up in his own flat and sorted all his food and drink needs for the duration of the stay.
Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

My heartfelt condolences to Noreen and family.
Unfortunately, I lost touch with Sean in latter years.
We were friends and flatmates when at UCC.
Sean was a gentleman; a loving and kind soul.
Hopefully he is reunited with his mother and sister.
May Sean rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences go out to Noreen and the entire Collins family. Although I did not know Sean for long I was lucky enough to spend some time with him at Pauric and Sarah’s wedding. During that short time it was easy to see what a kind and loving father Sean was, and how much he meant to his family. He also met his disease with the courage and dignity that we should all aspire to have even a fraction of in our lives toughest moments. He will live on through his loving family, and will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
