To Frankie and all the Naughton family ... deepest sympathy on the passing of a devoted husband and father. His was always a friendly, smiling face to encounter whether in the drapery shop or on the street in Tyone as we walked in and out to school and he always had a kindly word for all. His passion for his chosen sport is well documented and his devotion to its development was a lifelong endeavour. His passing will leave a void in both his family circle and in the wider community. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.

Was very sorry to hear of Sean's passing. I have know Sean since I was a teenager. He was a great help to Newport A.C. when our club was first set up. We travelled to his house every Friday night for the key to his baby - his legacy - the Indoor Track. He was always around when we were training and at competitions, getting around to everyone and encouraging us all whatever our event. As we aged he still always knew us and he was always the same Sean. You are a legend Sean. Sympathy to your wife and all your family and friends. Thinking of you all. Thank you Sean, you will be missed by so many. May you Rest In Peace.

To Brid, Mrs Naughton, and the Naughton Family, I would like to express my condolences at the recent passing of Sean. Since my time competing for Tramore A.C. Sean was a colossus of both Munster and Irish athletics. His love and knowledge of hurdling remains an abiding memory and this was amplified by his willingness to share that knowledge in order to improve standards. We fondly remember having Sean around for dinner when he was in Sydney for the World Juniors in 1996. Athletics was so lucky to have him. May he Rest in Peace.

It was a privilege to have known Sean for well over fifty years . He was an outstanding athlete, coach and far seeing administrator over that period who made a lasting contribution to Irish Athletics. His hard work and dedication in providing Ireland's first Indoor track in Nenagh three decades ago moved the sport here into a new modern era. Friendly and helpful to all it was a delight to meet him at fixtures in more recent times and to talk of the many good times past,
