My friend and coworker told me this story, she heard about it somewhere online and shared it with me because I told her that Irish people/Dubs have a great sense of humour even in the worst of times. It's what carries us through life. I was sharing that my dad was laid to rest a few years back and the ceremony was held in a chapel in Mount Jerome and my brother had a few of his favoirite songs played at the memorial, We were all sitting their quietly, heads bowed when all of a sudden "Ghost Riders in the Sky" started playing and everyone started to titter. in no time at all everyone was roaring laughing. Exactly what my dad would have wanted so kudos to all of you for bringing laughter and lightness to the ceremony. I'm sure it warmed Shay's heart.
PS) I used to go to a rugby club in Bohernabreena every Tuesday when I was a kid. Grew up in Old Bawn Tallaght.

A deep sorry to you..I saw your video here in Canada..I needed a laugh,as I too lost my Mom in April ,the age of 72 to Ovarian Cancer.
She always had laughter & her family was Irish as well. She went to Ireland last year for a Bucket list trip..
I hope you share lots of great memories of your dad& gramps..

Sorry for your loss, but even in death the Irish are by far the funniest. RIP Shay...

My sincere condolences to all of this amazing gentleman's family. I have viewed this most uplifting video taken at his gravesite and I wanted to let you know he made me laugh too. To have such a wonderful sense of humour as he had is surely a gift he was blest with. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless xo

Condolences to the family. I only know of your loss through the video. What a warm, wonferful man Shay was ss you can tell by his loving "prank".

I am sad for the pain you carry, however, Shay loved you all to the end and made you all laugh when you needed it most.

I never met Shay but his humour shines on. Treasure the fond memories because he is an incredible man, and has brought joy to many. May he rest in peace.

The best video I have ever seen it made me laugh on a depressing monday morn it's such a funny moving idea of a family man making hes family laugh at his grave unforgettable video of a man who seems unforgettable RIP.

Though I never met your Husband/Father, seeing the video of his funeral showed that he had a wonderful sense of humor and much love for you all as he was still trying to being you a laugh at such a dark hour for you. Know he touched many people from around the world reminding us to find ways even after we are gone to show those we love we are still with them. Much love to you all. May he rest in peace.

I was so sad to hear of the very sad news of Shea's death.
I can only say I was honoured to have looked after him, an absolute Gentleman and a Soldier and powerful voice for Nurses.
Your hearts I'm sure are just Broken but, be so so proud you got to call him your Husband and Dad.
