Condolences to Bernie And family on the passing of Doc. Was very sad to hear that he was unwell recently but was still shocked when the news came through.

Will always remember Doc for treating me so well when I was younger with regard to playing soccer at Thomastown United, the Disco days in the Longman, and even more recently during Covid, always giving me endless roars of encouragement on my evening jogs of the Coolwagon walkway, will be forever grateful for all those memories.

Met him by chance in Haras in May and congratulated him on his retirement, not realising at the time that it would be the last time I would see him. RIP Doc, one of the great characters of the town.

Doc had the unique gift of making one smile and laugh. Recall him on the Station Road two years ago on a civic venture by Soccer Club cleaning the rubbish. Another hidden talent was his knowledge of classical music, he could tell you the composer from a piece played. Better than Marty in the morning by a long shot.
