She always maintained a lively interest in Sport and Athletics in particular and was a life long patron of Coolcroo Athletic Club, her beloved husband Tom's " Alma Mater". Sheila always a joy to meet and chat, whether at the local shop or at an event, her sense of style and etiquette was admirable and encouraging, as we say in the country " always well turned out " Sheila's energy, enthuaism and planning skills were truly remarkable. Very soon after retiring from farming all the neighbours were in awe when they saw a very official sign being erected outside her house which read; " Dunboy House B&B...Bórd Fáilte Approved...Sheila was away on another adventure, fulfilling another dream. Hospitality to the fore she ran a very successful business for many more years with the assistance of her dear son Philip R.I.P. Indeed it was on many occasions some of my own family and friends from Kildare and Dublin availed of the very convienent over night stays, on their Trips to Tipp. I recall in particular how well she catered for a full house during the duration of the famous " Féile Music Festival " held in Semple Stadium. Now Sheila in your 99th year of life, it is your time to rest as a welcome guest in that "Great House in the Sky", and join with all of your loved ones, booked in before you. Condolences to Mary, Tommy,John, Pat , Michael, Denis, Brendan, Martin, and extended families. May Sheila's gentle, caring soul rest in Peace. I have very fond memories of Sheila, my nearest neighbour "as the crow flies " across the river. Sheila afforded me a lovely warm welcome to her home when I first arrived in Tipperary, hospitality with a lovely smile and the beautiful aroma of freshly baked bread and scones. Indeed John and myself visited many times over the years, always the same welcome. Sheila a great conversationalist, was always up to date on community development and generously contributed to many activities and fundraisers. One annual event stands out for me, St. Patricks Day Parade , an invitation to Healy's yard to prepare our Float accompanied by endless assorted sandwiches, scones ,buns, and cakes and endless pots of tea supplied into the early hours. Sheila, as well as being, a busy mother of 9 , an avid Gardener and Flower Arranger, Sheila was always content on the farm always busy cooking and keeping account of all the chores and making sure everything was in order and running smoothly on a daily basis working in partnership with her husband Tom and all the family.
